PHOTOPAPER 23/24 – Gauri Gill with an essay by Natasha Ginwala
Gauri Gill (b. 1970, Chandigarh, India) has exhibit ed within India and internationally, including documenta 14, Athens and Kassel. Her work is in t he collections of prominent institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Tate Modern, London; Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi and the National Gallery of Canada, Ontario. In 2011 she was awarded the Grange Prize, Canada’s foremost award for photography. She lives and works in Delhi.
Natasha Ginwala is a curator and writer. She was Curatorial Advisor for documenta 14, 2017. Other recent projects include My East is Your West at the 56th Venice Biennale, 2015 and Corruption: Everybody Knows with e-flux, New York, 2015. Ginwala was a member of the artistic team for the 8th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, 2014, and co-curated The Museum of Rhythm, at Taipei Biennial 2012 and at Muzeum Sztuki, ód, 2016–17.
